Drumroll please… it’s that time of the year again! The biggest date (well, I should actually say, “dates”) in London’s jam-packed festival calendar has finally arrived – with a whole host of world-famous headline acts to match. Just when I thought Wireless had done it all, it goes and gets three of the best artists in the world to headline each day. I don’t even know what day to pick that’s how difficult this is, I’m even considering whether or not I should go to all three. Talk about a tough decision…

The organisers of the annual Wireless Festival have also announced that this year, their popular three-day event will not only be taking place in Finsbury Park in London, but the extravaganza is coming to the Midlands! Setting up a summer party at Birmingham’s Perry Park. Sort of reminds me of V Festival which is also held over two locations in Essex and Staffordshire, but I’m glad that Wireless is finally moving to Birmingham! Ensuring that people like myself don’t have to travel all the way to London to see the show.

This year’s festival will be held from Friday 4th July to Sunday 6th July, the weekend will feature performances from some of the very best artists in the game, with Kanye West, Drake and Bruno Mars(With a little help from Outkast) headlining each day respectively. Kanye West will be joined by ‘Happy’ star who-point-blank-refuses-to-age, Pharrell Williams (who has looked the same all of his life, i’m sure of it), Basement Jaxx, and rapper Iggy Azealea, whilst Drake will be joined by special guests Rudimental, with Wiz Khalifa and the ever drama-esque Azealia Banks joining the long-line-up. The final day of the festival will be headlined by this year’s Superbowl performer, Bruno Mars, who provided an incredible performance just last week, and who will be joined by returning duo Outkast (who could ever forget, “Hey Ya!“) Ellie Goulding and John Newman, with more set to be announced in due course.

Wireless Festival has long been my favourite summer event, one that I will definitely be buying tickets for, after all, this is arguably one of the best line-up’s the festival has ever had! I’m looking forward to seeing Kanye perform alongside Pharrell, and I can’t wait to see Drake perform hits from his recent album “Nothing Was The Same” especially since I didn’t get tickets for his UK-wide tour in support of the record in March. Now in it’s tenth year, I’ve attended Wireless Festival on three separate occasions, each time better than last, especially Jay-Z’s set at London’s Olympic Park last year where he was joined by Justin Timberlake for a rendition of ‘Holy Grail’ and Rihanna‘s headline performance back in 2012, where the 80,000 strong audience was treated to a performance of super-smash ‘We Found Love‘, combined with large balloons, streamers and vibrant fireworks, where there was nothing that the torrential rain could do to down their spirits…
Rumours were rife this year that Beyoncé herself would be headlining Wireless Festival 2014, but that’s not the case unfortunately, not to worry though, she’s touring the UK in a matter of weeks and days, on her Mrs Carter Show World Tour (which i’m lucky to be attending on several occasions,)
But anyway, back to the point, can July just hurry up and get here please?
