Jason Derulo dances around and unveils new video for ‘Stupid Love’

Talk Dirty‘ singer Jason Derulo has premiered his emotional new video for ‘Stupid Love‘, the fourth single taken from his latest album, ‘Tattoos‘.

In the official video for the track, a topless Jason (who’s currently dating former American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks), dances around as he reminisces on his past with his girlfriend, who appears to have disappeared, either after a break-up or something worse, as Jason wanders around a once happy house, that is now abandoned and eerie, with boxes of possessions lying around covered in sheets. Jason sings of how he’d do anything for the one he loves, even if it means he’s stupid in love. “I’m crazy for you, lord know what I’d do, I’d even die for you,” he sings. “Whatever you need, I’m down on you knees” he continues, giving listeners an idea of how far he’d go to protect, as he sings over a catchy chorus (which is still stuck in my head).

But in a tragic turn of events, towards the end of the video it becomes clear that it’s actually Jason who met his demise, and it’s his ghost who is confessing his feelings. A newsreader appears on the television screen and tells of how Jason died when he stood up to protect his girlfriend after a gunman entered their home – awww, such a gentleman, even to the very end. The video comes to a close with his on-screen girlfriend visiting the house to pick up his guitar, as a lone tear rolls down her face.

I don’t know what it is, but Jason seems to be in a habit of releasing a lot of cute videos these days, having released the absolutely adorable ‘Marry Me‘ a few months ago, which actually features the lucky Jordin Sparks herself, as he professes how he’ll ask her to marry him when the time is right. Like, it really couldn’t get any cuter if he’d even tried… Hands up if you’re jealous! (I’ll quietly put my hand up over here.)

Jason Derulo is currently planning to embark on his UK tour next month, kicking off his overseas stint in Cardiff before traveling to Manchester, London and Newcastle, before hitting up Leeds and Bournemouth on the way to his final show in Glasgow. The 24-year-old recently announced he’d be extending his sold-out tour, adding dates in Liverpool and Sheffield, which are both set to take place in March.
