Chris Brown drops video for Loyal, featuring appearances from Lil’ Wayne, Usher and Trey Songz

Being in jail doesn’t appear to be stopping Chris Brown from releasing new music videos…

The 24-year-old singer may currently be serving a short time in an LA jail for breaching his probation whilst undertaking a judge-ordered stint at rehab (he’s set to be released later this month) but despite the fact that he’s well… locked up, he doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

The ‘Show Me’ star recently premiered the much-anticipated video for new single, ‘Loyal‘ featuring Young Money rappers Lil’ Wayne, and Tyga, who both provide fitting verses on the track, the latter of who replaces rapper French Montana’ previous effort. If that wasn’t enough, the video itself features extensive cameos from none other than R&B star Usher, and my favourite guy himself, Trey Songz. Basically, you get to see both Chris and Trey in one video, like, what could possibly be better?

Aside from the slightly explicit song having an extremely catchy, bass-hugging beat, it’s still typically misogynist in values, with Chris explaining that he can get absolutely anything he wants and any girl he wants (well he doesn’t actually say girl, he uses other words to that effect…) but all simply, because he’s rich and wealthy, hitting up clubs with bottles and fancy cars, throwing money in the air, you get the picture. Money is definitely the motive here.

However, despite this, Chris’ success doesn’t seem to be coming to a pit stop anytime soon, as ‘Loyal’ hit the UK’s Top 40 charts this week, jumping straight into the exclusive Top 20 at a cool, number 15, marking Breezy’s 17th UK Top 40 to date. Not bad for someone who’s career has been marred by his own mistakes. ‘Loyal’ is also sitting pretty at the the No.1 spot on the official UK R&B chart, making the wait for his new album ‘X’ all the worth while. ‘X’ is the Virginia native’s fifth studio album, the follow up to the highly underrated ‘Fortune’ which was released back in 2012 and is one of my most favourite albums. Set to be a double disc offering with ten tracks each (well, myself and #TeamBreezy can wish!), the upcoming album is rumoured to contain collaborations with Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, as well as boasting previous singles ‘Fine China‘ and ‘Don’t Think They Know‘.

‘X’ is set to be released on May 5th this year, a day which also happens to be Chris’s 25th birthday. Well let’s hope he’s out to celebrate it by then… But in the mean time, check out the official video for ‘Loyal’ below!
