British singer-songwriter Jay Sean may be well known on the UK Asian scene, but despite being overlooked by his British counterparts, you simply cannot overlook his accolades on the other side of the Atlantic.
The 35-year-old became the first solo artist of South Asian origin and the first UK urban act to hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, with the Lil Wayne feature assisted, ‘Down’, which eventually reached six million sales in the US alone, upon its release in 2009.
